  Donnie's Nova has a SBC 377 cu.in. engine that puts out 565HP & 436 ft.lbs of torque. 6000  rpm converter powerglide transmisson with 4.88
gears.  Runs  10.0s @ 132mph.This will be his 6th season with the car .

Kind of a mixed bag this year. The car has turned into a textbook case of "Be careful what you wish for, You may get it!" The new 555" was built for torque output, not big HP numbers, and it does make torque!!! Enough to bust a bulletproof differential, flywheels, starters, & anything else unfortunate enough to be in it's way from time to time. The good news is that I think that we've pretty much uncovered all of the drivetrain's weak spots and fixed 'em.  Performance numbers for the car this year were pretty good nonetheless, with a best ET of 9.41 sec @ 141 & change off the throttle stop, and 10.91 @ 139 mph while on the the stop. I'm think that I'm going to take Billy Sheppard's advice & leave the car alone for a change next year, with only a few minor changes planned, including a new set of valve springs & some 1.8 rockers, as well as possibly an alcohol setup to allow it to go more rounds comfortably. The engine makes approximately 680 plushorsepower and has taken the car to a best ET of 9.81 at 138 mph. It has a 12 bolt rear end and coil over shocks with ladder bar setup,along with all fiberglass body panels.  Michael has owned the car for 12 years now and has always been driven to win. With a single season at PEI raceway he won all 3 of the $2000 races with doubles on 2 of those weekends. He has won the points at Maitland once and finished 2nd two other times. At Maitland he was the only person to ever win the Race of Champions 2 times. In 1999 he finished second in the Maritime points with the engine expiring on the last race day and not being able to run. He is currently racing mostly at Greenfield Raceway.

Hi Don - Thought maybe a couple of pics of bikes was in order. Just
a couple of pics of my new bike (ran 8.51 ET at end of year with
baby motor no nitrous) And I'm no lite weight 230lbs. with no leathers
etc. The Fox is riding my old bike should see him and Rev. Jimi
Jones both on Suzukis run low nines to high eights, no pressure
Kawieman ( James that is). Might visit your fair track with the Missus
this year (no bike) just me. See what happens next year, big block
with juice (right Bernie)!  It's good to see lots of bikes and sleds

Great site, just wanted to send some info/pic of my bike.
It's a 1983 Suzuki Katana dragbike that i've been runnin for over 10
years now, mostly here at home on the Island (PEI that is). It's
presently at 1328cc and just recently (April28) ran it's best ET
to date in Epping N.H. at 8.81 sec at 148mph.
Our plans for this year are to make to Sydney for 2 events, probably
the June race and th ADRA points meet in August. Can't wait, it'll

Hi Guys: This is a great site eh?  Since Dave started the trend, I thought
I'd send a pic. too.  It's a 2000 GSX1300R Suzuki Hayabusa.  The bike
is stone cold stock.  The best time so far is a 9.91 at 141 mph with the
front end strapped, no bar, no slick.  Only new mod. for this year is a
proper tie down strap from Schnitz Racing.  I live in Cape North, Cape
Breton, right at the top of the Island.  It's a little more than a 2
hour drive to Sydney Dragway, but seems like my backyard in comparison
to driving to the old Maitland track or making the trip to Osyster Bed
in P.E.I.  I've been racing since 1995 and have never missed a race on
Cape Breton, but I may have to miss the last race this season because my
brother in-law, Lyndon Williams screwed up and scheduled his wedding
that weekend.  Think you can get Angie to change the date Lyndon?  Good to see more bikes showing up all the time.

From Wayne Murray - Some photos and information on the new racecar
he put together over the winter and debuted at the Raceway Park
season opener in PEI over the Victoria Day weekend.
 The Camaro has a turbo 350 and 2800 TCS convertor, 10 bolt GM rear w / mini spool and 4:10 gears.
A body job, a fresh coat of paint, a scoop, and wheels and tires later:
Wayne purchased this very rough 1980 Camaro in October of 2001 for only $150. Then he proceeded to totally gut the car to install the ladder bar backhalf complete with aluminum wheel tubs and Competition Engineering adjustable coilovers.

 Next came a lightweight racing bucket and aluminum interior and all glass replaced with Lexan. Engine (out of his 1980 Firebird from last season) is a .060 over 350 Chevy - 10.5 to 1 compression and a set of casting # 292 head with a mild port and polish job, stainless valves and Comp Cams double springs, Comp Cams 286 cam (.490 lift - 236 deg. @ .050 duration) - Comp Cams Magnum roller tip rockers and chromemoly pushrods..........
ABOVE: The finished product. First time out this year at the Raceway
Park PEI season opener this fairly mild engine combo pushed the 2700 lb Camaro to 12.17 @ 110.82 with a serious lack of traction.
